Housekeeper

Band 2

Job overview

The Paediatric Day Surgery unit provides dedicated day surgery facilities for paediatric patients through a suite of 2 Operating Theatres, Recovery, Pre/Post-operative Care and Pre-Assessment.

As a Housekeeper the post holder will coordinate all Hotel Services on the unit and will work as part of the Day Surgery unit team to facilitate seamless service delivery and ensure that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.

The successful applicant will work closely alongside the existing Day surgery team and other facilities/departments/support services so excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team is a must. They will also have autonomy in the ordering of stores, the reporting of faults and the initiation of works as required ensuring safe and smooth running of the unit.

The post holder will attend necessary meetings, feeding back relevant information, action within own scope and share responsibilities with Senior staff to enable them to delegate to the appropriate person.

Main duties of the job

A significant aspect of the role is effective stock ordering and rotation. Ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained as well as managing an effective cleaning and maintenance regime for the environment including medical equipment used within the department. Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential.

Academic qualifications are not essential but you will be expected to complete the National Care Certificate. You should possess excellent team working and communication qualities (both written and verbal) plus competent IT skills as most stock ordering is done electronically.

Full training and support will be provided.

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.
