Job overview

An exciting opportunity for a committed, experienced and aspiring nurse to join an established enthusiastic nursing team who already provide high standards of holistic nursing care to patients with cancer who have a variety of medical, nursing and psychological needs.

The  junior sister/charge nurse will be a motivated enthusiastic person with excellent leadership and communication skills, they will be a role model leading the team by example to deliver caring compassionate care to all patients.

Main duties of the job

The  junior sister/charge nurse will be an inclusive proactive member of the senior nursing team within the Specialist Cancer and Support Services Care Group.

The  junior sister/charge nurse will be able to work to their own initiative leading, developing, improving and monitoring standards of care to ensure safety for all patients and staff.

The junior sister/charge nurse will work collaboratively with the members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for our patients.  They should have a good understanding of the Queens Centre and understand the workings of the Day Treatment unit. The successful candidate will be SACT competent.

The new post holder will be supported in their role and will be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential as a competent and effective junior sister/charge nurse.
