Job overview

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are recruiting a Nursing Assistant within our Surgical Admissions Lounge at Castle Hill Hospital. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us on a part-time basis.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the registered nursing team in providing direct high quality patient care. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Sister and in partnership with the registered nursing team.

The department is operates from Monday to Friday 07:00-17:30 & Saturday 06:45-12:00. There will be a requirement to start at 06:30 on a rotational basis.

You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written, have a flexible approach to working and previous evidence of effective team working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

•    Uses medical equipment, to monitor and record baseline observations pre-operatively
•    Practices safe moving and handling procedures when assisting patients with mobility
•    Assists patients in a variety of procedures, including preparing patients for theatre, hygiene and toileting needs, mobilisation and transport to the theatre departments. 
•    Complete ECG’s
•    Provide Phlebotomy service, training can be provided.
