Ward Hygienist
Band 2
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the team within Theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary in the role of Hygienist.
You will work alongside the Theatre/Nursing team and fellow hygienists to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service.
The working days are Mon - Fridays, with no weekend working at present, subject to change with service requirements.
Main duties of the job
The Hygienist Job role includes maintaining national standards of cleanliness in relation to the direct patient environment and equipment within the Theatre environment, whilst adhering to infection control policies.
The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to work under their own initiative, escalating issues including broken and faulty equipment as necessary.
Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential.
Academic qualifications are not essential although IT skills would be an advantage as reporting broken equipment is done electronically.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.
