Job overview

Due to the retirement of one of our Driver / Equipment Technicians, we are seeking an experienced Driver / Equipment Technician to join our small team at the West Essex Community Equipment Service 

Main duties of the job

We are seeking someone with a positive outlook who is appropriately skilled, enthusiastic and reliable to join our team. The job involves working in a Warehouse environment, cleaning and storing equipment as well as driving a van in the community, delivering and collecting equipment in people's homes.

 The successful candidate will have extensive driving experience and excellent interpersonal skills. Tact, sensitivity and professionalism are important as they will often be dealing with bereaved relatives. A full driving license is essential.

 Previous experience is an advantage but full training will be given. Computer literacy is essential as equipment records are kept on a specialist database system.  A  good general level of physical fitness is required.

 A willingness to answer phone calls from time to time and to generally be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service is expected. Good communication skills will be needed, the team regularly communicates with Health care Professionals as well as dealing with enquiries from members of the public.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
