Join us in delivering outstanding care for Oncology & Haematology patients.

We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and clinically excellent Sister/Charge Nurse to provide leadership to our busy Chemotherapy Day Unit which offers malignant and non-malignant treatments to Haemato-oncology patients. The unit is nurse led and relies on the nursing expertise to assess and administer treatments to patients in a safe and efficient manner.

As our Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be SACT competent and dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care to ensure the safe, effective, and compassionate delivery of care for patients receiving treatment. You will provide visible clinical leadership, support the team professionally and operationally, and drive forward service development.

There will be the expectation of cross site working and collaboration with the Chemotherapy Woolverstone Day Unit, at Ipswich Hospital, details can be discussed at interview. This post will be worked Monday – Friday.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide expert clinical oversight to ensure safe SACT administration
  • Administration of SACT
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the department in close liaison with the Matron.
  • Responsibility for the operational management of clinical service delivery at unit level including outreach clinics, ensuring that patients and their carers receive a high standard of expert evidence based nursing care.
  • Lead, support, and inspire a dedicated multidisciplinary team
  • Drive improvements in service delivery, quality, and efficiency
  • Role model compassionate leadership and professional behaviours
  • Support education, development, and competency training of staff
