Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly, supportive, and energetic Recruitment Team as a Resourcing Assistant.
In this key role, you will help deliver a fast, accurate, and customer‑focused end‑to‑end recruitment service. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing a truly Gold Star experience to both hiring managers and candidates, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to outstanding service.
You will work closely with departments and colleagues across our three hospital sites—Basildon, Broomfield, and Southend—building strong, trusted relationships and supporting them throughout the recruitment process.
As a Trust, we aim to deliver safe, high‑quality services and to be an employer of choice. Our Recruitment and Workforce Services teams are based at the Corporate Services Hub in Britannia Park, Southend, though some travel across our sites may occasionally be required.

Main duties of the job

- Administering Offers
- Conducting and recording the pre-employment checks through to booking start dates and finalising the onboarding process for successful candidates
- Communicating with and supporting hiring managers and candidates over the phone, face to face and via email
- Ensuring adherence to the NHS employment check standards and compliance with appropriate employment legislation, resulting in the delivery of a comprehensive and responsive recruitment service within the Trust
Additionally, you will be supporting various members within the team as well as supporting and collaborating to deliver the recruitment service level agreement in place. This will be through; coordinating recruitment activities, providing an effective, efficient and customer focused service which meets the changing needs of the Groups’ services and clinical areas.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 / CIPD Level 4 / CPP equivalent or equivalent experience or willingness to study
Desirable criteria
- Foundation Certificate in CIPD or working towards qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous exposure of working in a busy recruitment, HR or customer service environment
- Experienced and proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Able to work without constant supervision
Desirable criteria
- Previous recruitment experience
Communication Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills - communicating clearly, concisely and confidently, using language and manner appropriate to audience, avoiding jargon

- Able to deal sensitively and tactfully with all contacts and maintain confidentiality
