Non-Executive Director
Board Level
Job overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
Please see below for a detailed description of the role.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a new Non-Executive Director to join our Board and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our large acute Trust - and our wider health and care system.
We are looking for an individual with senior level clinical experience gained in either a medical, nursing or allied health professional registered discipline; with a strong service delivery background and a demonstrable track record of delivering quality improvement at a strategic level – keeping the patient at the heart of all we do.
With over £1 billion turnover and 13,000 staff, we lead and operate multi-site hospitals in our community, in addition to providing specialist centre care for neurosciences, cardiac services and children's intensive care. We touch the lives of over four million people.
Working for our organisation
It is an exciting time to join the Trust as we navigate change in the NHS and work more collaboratively with our system partners. As a major centre for teaching and research, we work closely with the University of Southampton, Medical Research Council, Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK, giving us some of the best access in the country to the latest medical advances, diagnoses, therapies and treatments.
Through our long-standing values of Patients First, Working Together and Always Improving, we are proud of the care we provide and the outcomes we achieve. We are also proud of our hugely talented and diverse workforce and we are all passionately committed to building a culture where everyone can be their best.
The best boards are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from women, people from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles.
