Job overview

We are excited to announce the opening of our state-of-the-art Orthopaedic Centre in Winchester, scheduled for July 2025. This new facility is a testament to our Trust’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region and working collaboratively with orthopaedic services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight to serve patients across our communities. 

The Centre consists of a day case area and an inpatient elective orthopaedic ward. 

Previous experience in this area is not essential as in-house training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped to meet the demands of this role.

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure the bed space is prepared prior to patients arriving on the ward so that the area is safe and presentable to the patient i.e. checking the area has been cleaned and bed linen is clean and 
    made.
  • Assist with the ordering and serving of patient meals to ensure all patients receive appropriate nutrition while on the ward.
  • Report any damaged/ faulty equipment to the works department and co-ordinate any maintenance work/requests for work to aid in the smooth running of the ward
  • Maintain ward stocks of linen by communicating with linen services to ensure appropriate levels of linen are available on the ward and ensure the linen received is of good quality and stored/disposed  of in line with trust policies.
