An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SHARP Anaesthetics Senior Clinical Fellow in Sustainability. This new SHARP Fellowship stream offers bespoke opportunities for education and training in environmental sustainability, including delivery of education will form the core of the post with contribution to daytime and on call activities..

Main duties of the job
We will provide a closely mentored fellowship allowing you to access opportunities for education and leadership in environmental sustainability. In addition to fellowship opportunities, you will contribute to regular day time activity across specialties and to resident on call duties. It is expected that you will cover full on call duties with normal daytime work prioritised to your fellowship opportunities.
Resident on-call duties are on a 1:8 rota with prospective cover and will cover either general or obstetric anaesthesia services, or ICU. These hours are 08:00-18:00, 08:00-20:30 and 20:00-08:30. There are three tiers of resident anaesthetic and intensive care cover within the hospital who work as a team to provide out of hour cover with non-resident consultant support.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBChB / MBBS
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to practice
- Primary FRCA (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- Final FRCA
Training
Essential criteria
- 3 years anaesthesia experience
- Evidence of IAC / Theatre on calls
- Evidence of IACOA / Obs on calls
- Evidence of Core Competences in ICM / ICM on calls
- ALS Provider
Desirable criteria
- 18 months paid NHS experience
- Other medical experience
- ATLS/ETC/ APLS/ EPLS Provider
- Formal training or CPD in environmental sustainability
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Commitment to anaesthesia
- Widespread knowledge in all aspects of general medicine and surgery
- Demonstrate passion to improve environmental impact of healthcare
- Good understanding of climate change and its impact on human health
