We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the maternity team as a weekend housekeeper. You will join a team of existing maternity housekeepers. The post will be to provide housekeeper support across maternity ward and delivery suite .
The role will suit someone who has high standards of cleanliness and organisation. You will need to be able to multi-task and work in a busy and at times challenging environment. The housekeeper is pivotal in ordering stock and ensuring there is enough stock items at all times. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
IT skills will also be required for this post. So a good knowledge of IT systems will be required.
Excellent communication skills are required as you will have to liaise with many departments., such as distribution, suppliers and the infection control team.
Please note this role is to work shifts on Monday, Friday and Alternative Saturday and Sundays.
Main duties of the job
- to provide a comprehensive Housekeeping service to the maternity environment ensuring consistent quality, efficiency and effectiveness of this service.
- to play a key role in assisting in the prevention and control of Healthcare Associated Infection.
- to maintain a welcoming and tidy environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- to ensure economical and safe use of supplies and equipment.
- to ensure close communication between Domestic Assistants and midwifery colleagues in relation to cleaning issues.
