An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Decontamination Technician in the Endoscopy Unit.

The post holder will be processing endoscopes and ensuring all equipment is ready for the daily lists working in both Hereford County Hospital and Ross-on-Wye Community Hospital Sites.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Decontamination Technician is to support safe and effective reprocessing of usable medical devices, contributing directly to patient safety and clinical care. Working under the supervision of the Decontamination Technician Supervisors, the post holder will carry out tasks such as cleaning, disassembly, inspection, reassembly, packaging and sterilisation of medical devices.

  • Maths and English Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent)

  • Ability to follow instructions, set routines and procedures
  • Requirement to learn about decontamination issues
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of people
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate knowledge of roles and responsibility within the clinical setting

Experience
