Job overview

Main duties of the job

You would be required to provide high-quality, timely and accurate information that supports operational and strategic decision-making at Medway Community Healthcare. The post holder will extract and analyse data from internal systems using SQL, Excel, Power BI and other tools to produce insightful reports and visualisations. This role is integral in improving data quality, supporting clinical and corporate services, and ensuring internal and external reporting requirements are met.

This role combines technical expertise with strong communication and planning skills. The post holder will engage closely with colleagues across clinical and corporate teams, supporting them to understand, use, and improve data. They will develop and maintain a suite of reporting tools and dashboards, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of routine and ad hoc submissions, and contribute to a data-driven culture within the organisation.

  • MCH is considering merging with Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (KCHFT). If the merger goes ahead, the proposed transfer date is 30th September 2026 and this role will be subject to TUPE transfer to KCHFT.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will:

 Build and maintain robust reporting solutions using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.

  • Work with managers, clinicians, and commissioners to ensure information is relevant, timely, and supports effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve data quality across services, escalating persistent issues as needed.
  • Coordinate responses to data and information requests, including Freedom of Information submissions.
  • Contribute to the standardisation of data processes and support service leads in training and guidance on data tools and reporting.
  • Support organisational improvement by identifying trends, highlighting performance issues, and suggesting data-led solutions.
  • You will also take responsibility for the security, integrity and efficient use of data resources, and for promoting best practice in data governance, in line with internal policy and NHS standards.
