Main duties of the job
- To work as part of the catering team within Darland House, Our Zone and Harmony house, Able to communicate well with residents, carers, volunteers and ward/service staff. The post holder will be responsible for catering in line with Medway Community Healthcare CIC and NHS
National Standards for food preparation for patients, staff, families and carers.
The post holder will need to be flexible working across different shifts covering 7 days a week on a bank contract to cover staff holidays and sickness absence.
Shifts available: 9.30am-1.30pm 7 days a week for lunch serving. 4pm-6pm for dinner serving.
Successful candidates will support the kitchen team in preparing meals for 18 stroke patients on the stroke unit Endeavour attached to the Ourzone day centre, as well providing a lunch service for approximately 20-25 day centre users at Ourzone.
Successful candidates will be offered shifts which require cover in advance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide lunch and dinner service to 40 plus stroke patients and Ourzone day centre service users.
MCH currently provide hot and cold meal provisions - hot meal provisions are contracted by Apetito. The role of the catering assistant is to ensure the hot meals are heated, following the correct health and safety requirements.
Cold meal provisions include preparing sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes.
