We are looking for an extremely motivated, confident, flexible and passionate individual with excellent communicational and leadership skills, who has experience/knowledge in oncology or working with oncology patients, to join the Macmillan Acute Oncology team.

Main duties of the job
You will work very closely with all staff involved in the care of cancer patients; in particular, Oncologists, Acute Medical Assessment Unit, AED and the Cancer & Specialist Palliative Care MDT members. Liaising closely with both tertiary and primary care partners.
The extremely motivated post holder will require highly developed interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills, having a strong focus on attention to detail. They must be able to demonstrate sound leadership skills along with vision and the ability to influence others in the provision of high standards of acute oncology care for all patients and their families/carers.

- Recognised qualification in Cancer/ Palliative Care
- Teaching qualification

- Evidence of management experience/training

- Significant relevant clinical experience, at Band 5 or above.
- Significant experience in oncology nursing

- Expert cannualation skills & central venous line skills
- Evidence of research based practice
- Organisaltional skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Evidence of being up to date with current issues in oncology and professional care
- Evidence and understanding of anticancer treatmetns and potential side effects
