Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Nurse to join our team at Bamber Bridge Health Centre, Bamber Bridge, Preston within the Lancashire and South Cumbria Dental Service.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual, with excellent communication skills to assist in the delivery of urgent and routine dental care. The post requires the individual to work 7.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday. You must be a qualified dental nurse, and you will have a good standard of education and the ability to work well within a team. 

You will mainly work at your base clinic; however you may also be required to work at our other clinics, covering sickness and annual leave. You will have opportunity to study for post registration qualifications including sedation and will have access to plentiful CPD and clinical supervision.

Essential criteria
  • Qualified Dental Nurse Registered with the GDC
  • Three or more of the following (or working towards a 3rd): Certificate in Dental Radiography | Certificate in Oral Health Promotion | Certificate in Dental Sedation | Nursing Certificate in Dental Anaesthetic | Nursing Certificate in Special Care Dentistry | Fluoride Application | Impression Taking

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Organisation/managerial ability
  • Knowledge of the local dental situation
  • Able to meet agreed objectives

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of assisting chairside in the dental surgery for a minimum of 2 years post qualification
  • Experience of assisting chairside in the dental surgery within the last 2 years
