As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
- Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
- Extensive community physical health and well-being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term condition management.

Job overview
Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust recognise and value the importance volunteer support is to us and our patients. We currently have a volunteer role available supporting the Experience and Engagement Team particularly, the Personalised Care Manager. You must be 18 years and over to apply for this role.

Main duties of the job
Volunteering on award involves a long term commitment (for example 9 – 12 months), and to bring continuity and stability for patients and staff, we ask volunteer to support by doing the same periods each week, which are discussed and agreed by the volunteer and volunteer supervisor.
The Experience and Engagement Team Volunteer will support the delivery of personalised care, patient experience, and engagement activities across Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The role will provide valuable administrative and practical support to help ensure service users, carers, families, and communities have opportunities to influence and improve services. The volunteer will contribute to engagement initiatives, help maintain accurate records, support communications, and assist with the organisation of meetings, events, and feedback activities.

Volunteer duties may include
• Attend events, for example Art exhibitions, seminars
• Help organise engagement events, focus groups, and workshops.
• Respond to enquiries in a polite manner and ensuring an appropriate response is initiated.
• Support staff in dealing with administration requests
• Photocopy leaflets for distribution
• Creation of word documents, PowerPoints and other media that support team function
• Taking and delivering messages if required
• Collation of information packs for colleagues, patients and carers, and arranging for them to be sent to out.
• Help to maintain stocks of items such as leaflets, booklets and posters, including supporting to process deliveries.
• Support, when available, with events and delivery of information to staff
• Supporting with social media, such as taking team photographs and uploading to social media platforms
• Have a good understanding of personalised care and have a genuine interest in this topic.
• To share appropriate elements of lived experience to support patients and staff.
• Support with delivery of information to clinical staff from a lived experience standpoint.
• Speak with service users, carers, family and Staff /members of the public about events and services
• Help prepare reports, newsletters, presentations, and communication materials.
• Help promote opportunities for service users and carers to participate in improvement work
For this role applicants must be over the age of 18
A Standard DBS is required for this role and there is no charge to a volunteer for a DBS application.
