Band 7
Job overview
Do you want to be apart of the REAL 24 hours in A&E??
Being part of our amazing #TeamED is wonderful enough…but imagine helping lead it! We know you are out there – we just need to find you! Somewhere where your passion for emergency and trauma care can help inspire and influence the whole team.
We can promise you it’s definitely not going to be dull! 12 hour shifts are our norm across both sites and the feedback we get from our fab team members is that they really value them and the work life balance they bring.
We are looking for someone to cover a secondment for 12 months. Someone who wants to gain experience in working at a band 7 level within a busy Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a leader who is dynamic and strives to lead by example who has experience of working in a busy ED department who can bring their own knowledge and experience to our already existing team and is ready to hit the ground running. You will be in a position to influence and effect emergency care as we continue to develop our innovative ways of working.
Working for our organisation
We are a forward-thinking department with a real emphasis on staff development and training – we have our own clinical education team based in ED for all your training needs plus our consultants on every shift available to support and educate – the relationship between medical and nursing staff is second to none. The educators are here to support the wider team both with clinical skills in the clinical area and all general training needs to provide up to date skills.
We have a variety of departmental study days such as:
The Triage process
Minor injury assessment and management
Resus Training
We also have in situ simulations carried out on the shop floor and lead by the North West Human Factors lead – so there is always something new to learn and get involved in!
We have access to funding for University CPD
We are working towards all senior nursing staff having the RCN Emergency Competencies at Level 2
No matter how much we try, it’s impossible to cram everything in just one advert, so we really welcome you to get in touch and have a chat with us.
It’s all about #TeamED here and we are so really proud of this – our colleagues feel like family so it’s a pleasure to work with them every day. You will work alongside Advanced Nurse Clinicians, Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Consultants and our fabulous Healthcare Assistants who support us all the way.
