Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Be the point of contact for all day to day enquiries from the clerical and clinical team
· Provide support in bookings, Reception and telephone cover as required.
· Obtain case notes from medical records and other locations as requested.
· Liaise with medical records, General Practitioners and others as appropriate.

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
- English at GCSE level or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Medical Terminology Qualification
- RSA Qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in supporting patient pathways
- Efficient in the use of Microsoft Windows packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience as a medical secretary
- Understanding of the outpatient appointment process from referral to discharge
- Experience of hospital based word processing packages (ALMA)

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
