Job overview

The role of the Estates Officer is to support the Estates Manager in ensuring Trust’s electrical/mechanical equipment is maintained to statutory and mandatory standards which will ensure a well maintained safe and secure environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Main duties of the job

Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) Engineering officer duty to include –but not limited to:

-       PPM planning

-       Contracts and service delivery management

-       An all-round knowledge of M&E plant, HV & LV systems, BMS systems, Air Conditioning (FCU/AHU), HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, Small installation, Emergency lighting tests, Chillers, Water treatment etc.

-       Ensure that the permit to work is in place and adhered to so that contractors and colleagues work safely at all times.

-       Oversee installation and upgrade projects.

-       Oversee Operational Meetings.

-       Liaising with the stakeholders on day-to-day basis.

-       Able to participate in the on-call as per required – additional payment.

-       Oversee installation and upgrade projects.

-       Assisting with the preparation and collation of tender documents

-       Assisting the Estates & Facilities team when required with Day to Day operations

This role will be based on site 5 days a week. No home/Hybrid working.

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge & understanding of HTM's
  • Knowledge & understanding of HBM's
  • Experience in Healthcare setting
  • Experience of a PFI contract
  • Experience of managing external advisors/contractors
  • Knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety regulations
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in carrying out inspections on Hard FM services
  • Hard FM & Soft FM experience
  • Customer Service experience
