We answer around two million 999 calls a year and our crews attend more than 3000 emergencies a day. Our 24-hour 111 integrated urgent care services London answer around two million calls a year.
We play a leading role in integrating access to emergency and urgent care in the capital and are striving to ensure patients receive the right response, in the right place, at the right time
Our main role is to respond to emergency 999 calls, providing medical care to patients across the capital, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Other services we offer include providing pre-arranged patient transport and finding hospital beds. Working with the police and the fire service, we are prepared for dealing with large-scale or major incidents in the capital.

Alert management of any issues or concerns that may affect service provision and safe operation of vehicles.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Routinely undertake duties in a safe, effective and efficient manner, commensurate with the post, as directed, by Operational Managers and Hub Coordinator.
Ensure that the Trust required standards are maintained in make ready process and operating standards in accordance with infection control.
To use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly to undertake the activities of the role. Where deficiencies exist to ensure prompt reporting action to supervisor.

Use Pro-Cloud software via personal issue iPad to undertake Make Ready duties as required including receiving jobs, and scanning of equipment between locations.
Frequently input vehicle made ready information into Pro-Cloud.
To accurately record the withdrawal of stock using manual and electronic means.
Identify any problems within the Pro-Cloud system associated with the vehicle or equipment and escalate where required.
Record emergency ambulance mileages and inputs them into the Pro-Cloud system.
Routine work with occasional interruptions to deal with ad hoc requests.
Assist with emergency product recalls including identifying and isolating affected equipment.
Ensure accuracy to procedures, taking due care to ensure equipment and consumables are correctly labelled, stored and distributed.
Undertake function and assurance checks on complex medical devices and other medical and nonmedical equipment in accordance with the appropriate SOP.
Ensure cleaning chemicals are secure, stored in a manner to prevent harm and in date.
Ensure uniform and personal protective equipment is worn during any work activities in line with method statements and risk assessments.
Ensure appropriate steps are taken to protect the environment, the health and safety of staff, patients and visitors.
Quality Care & Governance
Work with colleagues to create a clean, safe working environment.
Undertake introductory training and work under supervision until signed off as competent.
Undertake statutory and mandatory training as appropriate for the role.
Undertake all other training identified and work in accordance to it.
Report to supervisor any problems within the Pro-Cloud system
The post holder will be expected to lift awkward and heavy items in the course of their duties following manual handling principles.
The post holder will handle products and operate equipment which may be dirty/dusty for which PPE is provided and must be used.
Ensure that any health and safety risks, concerns, near misses and accidents are highlighted, reported and inputted where appropriate on the Trust Datix system.
Drive Trust vehicles in accordance with all relevant procedures including logging all journeys.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current full manual UK Driving Licence (with no more than 3 penalty points).
- Full C1 category on driving license
- Good standard of written and verbal English
Desirable criteria
- • Must be willing to undertake any training as required by LAS
Experience
Essential criteria
- 1 year of driving experience
- Previous cleaning experience
- Experience of stores / stocking taking/ checking
- Experience of working within a public service or customer care environment
Desirable criteria
- • Experience of driving around London and driving larger vehicles Knowledge
