Are you a Service user or Carer of Oxleas who would like a role in the staff recruitment process?

We are seeking to find Oxleas service users and carers to participate in job selection panels for staff for all physical and mental health directorates. This includes services for children, adults and older adults in Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich.

Oxleas believes that to recruit the right staff it will benefit from having service users/carers on the interview panel.

To undertake this role you will need express an interest and undergo an informal interview process if successful you will be required to attend and complete a half day of training which will be provided by Oxleas staff.

You will also need to have the right to work in the UK and be prepared to undergo all recruitment checks including a DBS.

Service users and carers will be paid for participating on the interview panels (London Living Wage/hr), but not the training. We will also cover your travel expenses and lunch.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Join other staff in the selection process ( interview or group discussion).
  • Work as part of the interview panel to devise appropriate questions, and answers
  • Participate in the shortlisting process if requested
  • Follow and participate in the recruitment process
  • Ask questions to candidates
  • Work as a member of the interview panel to come to a joint decision about appointments

Oxleas will need to be able to book service users for interview panels promptly, therefore you will need to have access to email communication to receive and give information about your availability to be on recruitment panels.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Experience of using Oxleas services

Communication and literacy skills: Reading, verbal and written. Must have access to and regularly check a working e-mail address

Willingness to participate in training and to learn about the role of becoming a panel member

Good time-keeping.

Panel members must respect the input of others as well as contributing to the panel and listen to other panel members

Have the ability to concentrate for up to an hour at a time, and longer on occasions.
