Job overview

Work  in all areas of the department on a rotational basis, working within set protocols and IRMER regulations ensuring a high quality and efficient Radiology service.

Ensure consistency of medical imaging quality and standards of patient care in a wide range of clinical environments as well as to a diverse range of patient presentations.

Main duties of the job

Deputise for the Modality Superintendent as required in the running of the work area.

Participate in a core hours service across 7 days including night shifts.

Act as role model and support junior colleagues in the work area.

Contribute effectively to the delivery of an efficient and responsive Radiology service and make recommendations on service improvement.

Qualifications and Further Training

Essential criteria
  • DCR or BSc (Hons) in Radiography
  • HCPC Registration
  • Record of CPD activities
  • Cross sectional experience
Desirable criteria
  • Greater than 18 months post graduate experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of NHS working
  • Wide experience of all radiographic procedures
Desirable criteria
  • Pro-active in own learning and development
  • Attendance at study days

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Expert knowledge of current practice and proven technical skills in clinical Radiography, underpinned by theory and practice.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills with all staff and users of the service
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Health and Safety related to Radiology
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and audit
  • IV Cannualtion training
