Main duties of the job

Please see job description. Cardiology at the Royal Free is a truly integrated service across the Royal Free, Barnet and Chase Farm sites. The Royal Free has the largest non-surgical primary PCI service in London, and a expertise in multi-modality imaging including advanced echo, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.  The Royal Free is also a leading national centre for pulmonary hypertension, amyloidosis and carcinoid heart disease.  Barnet General Hospital has a large physiology service with advanced echocardiography, and is the Royal Free arrhythmia centre  housing an expanding pacing, complex device implantation and EP & ablation service.  There are cross-site MDTs for coronary disease, heart failure and valvular heart disease as well as monthly clinical governance meetings.

  • Experience in general Cardiology at ST2 level (2)
  • Full GMC registration (2)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in general Cardiology at ST3 level (5)
  • Experience in general internal medicine at ST 3 level (2)

Skills and aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Clinical Auditing & Quality improvement
Desirable criteria
  • Competence in echocardiography
