Job overview

The post holder will provide financial management, support and advice, to divisions and directorates within the Trust specifically on scoping, monitoring and reporting on the Trusts efficiency and productivity programme, working closely with the wider financial management team and relevant budget managers. This will include production of accurate and timely efficiency reports and forecasts and investigation and advice on complex issues pertaining to efficiency. The post holder will provide the needed information to the Trust and its budget holders through the completion of the monthly financial reporting requirements to the Board & external agencies. The post holder will work closely with the Transformation, Costing and Financial Management teams supporting with sizing savings programmes and developing the Trust’s overall Grip and Control programme.

Main duties of the job

·         Co-ordinate management accounting processes pertaining to efficiency targets and provide timely and accurate financial reports to the Head of Financial Strategy and Transformation, Head of Finance and budget managers within the Trust, include the provision of high-quality variance analysis reporting and forecasting information co developed with the Financial Management Team.

·         Provide information and support to budget holders and the divisional management team. This will involve complex calculations and the undertaking of investigations into financial / activity related issues and the occasional review of commercial related issues. The information / advice provided will be used to achieve demanding financial efficiency targets.

·         Communicate complex financial issues to non-financial managers and persuade managers / negotiate agreement from a range of options, which will result in improvements to service delivery.
