Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and dedicated Imaging assistants to join the Imaging team at Hammersmith Hospital -Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will be required to assist Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists to help deliver a high quality patient focused service. They should have good communication skills, as both telephone and face to face patient contact is continuously required.

They should be able to work as part of a team, with good listening skills and an ability to follow direction and protocol in a busy and ever changing working environment. They will also be expected to chaperone during intimate examinations, in particular when performing transvaginal ultrasound scans for female patients. 

Some experience in a clinical environment and with patient care is essential, however further dedicated training for the specific role will be provided to the successful candidate.

To deliver our service, this role requires a flexible approach to work with the possible addition of evening and weekend shifts to current contracted hours on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist and support the professional staff within the Imaging Directorate maintaining a high standard of patient care by carrying out assigned tasks.
  • Provide an efficient and reliable system for throughput of patients ensuring the activity and needs of the unit are achieved.
  •  Assist with clerical needs of the unit

  • Experience in patient care. NVQ level 2 in healthcare related subject
