Applications are invited for the above post of Fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow within the General Surgery Division at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  This is a full-time position for 12 months (no on-call).

Main duties of the job

The Hillingdon Hospital wishes to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the General Surgery department for a 12 month fixed-term contract. The role will focus primarily on breast. The post is essential to meet the ongoing Breast and General Surgical expansion. The department has 8 substantive consultants, 3 Breast consultants and two locum consultants with middle grade and juniors to support them.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The senior clinical fellow will primarily work for the Breast unit . The job covers a wide variety of oncoplastic breast surgery, one-stop clinic exposure, planning and plastic surgery clinical exposure. The Breast team at Hillingdon hospital is based in the new purpose-built unit at Mount Vernon Hospital.  The Breast team provides comprehensive service including oncoplastic surgery, medical and clinical oncology with weekly multi-disciplinary meetings.

  • • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice
  • • FRCS/MRCS
  • • Have experience in Breast and General surgery
  • • Some experience of laparoscopic procedures, like diagnostic laps and appendicectomy
Desirable criteria
  • • Exposure in One-stop clinic and oncoplastic surgery
