Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join our Business Support Services team as Business Support Administrators.
We are recruiting for two fixed-term contract roles with different contract durations and working patterns:
- Fixed-term until April 2027 (full-time, 37.5 hours per week)
- Fixed-term until May 2027 (part-time, 25 hours per week)
We are seeking applicants who are dedicated to providing a high-quality patient and customer centric service and are happy to share their knowledge by working with their team.
Our Business Support Services Team work alongside our Laboratory based colleagues to provide administrative support and by providing essential information to our service users. The position will be in person based at our Hub lab site on Lisieux Way, with the potential to work at one of our Essential Services Laboratories (ESL) sites when required.
Role Responsibilities
As a Business Support Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting all three of our sites with their crucial paperwork which is required for us to be able to maintain our UKAS accreditation. Your duties will include, but are not limited to;
- Monitoring and dealing with requests in multiple inboxes.
- Providing information and non-technical advice to all users of the Pathology service.
- To liaise with laboratory staff as required.
- Scheduling meetings and taking minutes.
- To create room bookings for both internal and external parties.
- For the provision of food and refreshments upon request.
- Inputting data from reports received from external laboratories.
- Greeting patients arriving as part of our Andrology clinics.

Qualification
Essential criteria
- 3 x GCSE’s to include English and Maths and/or NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, level of knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Progress to a degree entry qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working in an administrative or customer services role
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of taking minutes at meetings
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of levels of staff within the laboratory, user organisations and suppliers of goods and services
- Well-developed interpersonal and team working abilities
- Strong attention to detail and numeracy, with efficient time management and adaptability
- Able to plan activities
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of administrative systems and computer applications in use within Pathology, particularly LIMS, Quality Management System and Procurement system
