Job overview

This is a great volunteering admin role joining our Volunteer Service. You will be supporting the gathering, collation and promotion of feedback via the phone and emails.

We have a statutory duty to gather data about our volunteers and their activity which is submitted to NHS England. You will be helping the team to gather the data.

Main duties of the job

This role is intended to support our volunteer team and enhance the service they offer.

 Please see below what you may be involved in with this role:

·      Contact volunteers to capture and record their feedback on various aspects of their volunteering.

·      Contact volunteer supervisors to capture and record their feedback on various aspects of volunteering.

·      Support information/data collections.

·      Research volunteer roles within other organisations.

·      Support the admin function of the service.

·      Support volunteer interviews.

 

DBS Level for this role is:  Standard

  • To be friendly, enthusiastic and reliable.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent understanding of confidentiality.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Lived or living experience of mental health service will be seen as an advantage

Volunteer Recruitment

Applying to become a volunteer may seem a little daunting for some people however, the volunteer service is here to guide and support you through the process.

Please be aware that due to the robust process, recruitment can sometimes take a few weeks.

Throughout the process you will have informal meetings with us and the service where you will be volunteering. In addition to this we will require you to:

  • Complete an identity (ID)
  • Complete a Disclosure and Barring Service* (DBS) Check,
  • Complete an Occupational health assessment
  • Give details for two references
  • Complete relevant training.

DBS checks for volunteers are free and the level of check is dependent on the role you are undertaking.

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
