Job overview
This is a brand new volunteering role on our Mental Health Inpatient Unit in Bury.
We are looking for a friendly, and enthusiastic person to help develop and run an activity group specialising in Holistic therapies such as Yoga or Reiki. If you are qualified to deliver such therapies please get in touch for more details or submit an application.

Main duties of the job
The role is intended to enhance the experience of those people using our inpatient services by supporting and encouraging our service users to take part in group activities.
What the role involves:
· With the support of staff deliver low level therapeutic holistic activities such as yoga, reiki, gentle exercise (qualifications in the activity needed)
· Encourage and support service users to participate in the therapeutic activity
· Provide assistance to the Therapy Team to ensure that activity resources are utilised and stored appropriately.
DBS Level for this role is: Enhanced with adult barred list
The knowledge, skills and attributes required for the role:
- Qualification in the therapeutic activity you are providing
- Experience/knowledge/interest in mental health.
- Experience of working within mental health.
- An empathetic and caring nature
- Good organisation skills
- Punctuality and reliability

Please note: To meet our Trust’s safeguarding obligations applicants for this volunteer role must be aged 18 or over.

Applying to become a volunteer may seem a little daunting for some people however, the volunteer service is here to guide and support you through the process.

- Complete an Occupational health assessment
- Give details for two references
- Complete relevant training.
