Job overview

A vacancy has arisen for a Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team Leader to join our Service based at Various sites across Oldham and Rochdale

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to work closely with our current Physiotherapy Team Leaders and Operational Leads.

You will have evidence of leadership skills through project work and be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellent care and customer service. You should have proven experience of staff and service development.

You must be able to demonstrate specialist skills in the assessment and management of pelvic health conditions and the ability to manage a complex caseload.

You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching, research, and managerial skills. Opportunities for staff development; in-service training; and protected supervision time are well established within the service.

Main duties of the job

  • To have day to day management responsibility for the physiotherapy pelvic health service
  • To ensure effective operational management of the service and delivery of high quality, safe, person-centred care
  • To manage a complex caseload of patients 
  • To support Operational leads with workforce planning and recruitment
  • To work closely with Operational Leads on the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the service.
  • To contribute to service development, research, and audit within the specialism.
  • To provide teaching, training, supervision and support for junior staff and students
  • To manage patient concerns and support in the investigation of formal complaints and incidents.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Willingness to undertake training in specialist are to masters level or equivalent

Professional Registration

Essential criteria
  • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Knowledge Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training in relevant speciality
  • Specialist knowledge in anatomy and physiology to support relevant clinical skills
  • Appropriate post-registration experience at a senior level.
  • Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
  • Advance clinical reasoning skills (in specific clinical area.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Audit experience of own and others practice
  • Good working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management
  • Experience of team management/leadership.
  • Experience of working within a team and independently.
  • Self motivated and able to lead and motivate others within a team.
  • Experience of liaison with other professionals and partnership working.
  • Basic understanding of computers and their applications.
  • To comprehend and work within the Trusts policies of data protection, equal opportunities and Health and Safety to meet the differing needs of patients.
Desirable criteria
  • Specific advanced clinical courses in relevant specialist area.

  • Able to present information in a clear and logical manner. Teaching, supervisory and appraisal skills and experience on a regular basis
  • Presentation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within specialist clinical area
  • Able to travel between sites.
  • Physically fit and able to comply with the Trusts moving and handling guidelines subject to reasonable adjustments under the terms of the Equality Act 2010.
Desirable criteria
  • Access to transport.
