Job overview
An opportunity has arise to provide a comprehensive Painting and Decorating and building fabric maintenance service to all wards and departments in a multi-disciplined environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
Main duties of the job
- As a Maintenance Technician, you will have a Painting and decorating background and will be able to carry out building fabrication preparation work and repairs on a range of estates structural and fabric components/elements with minimum supervision throughout the Trust.
- You will be working on the full range of estates building finishes to resolve trade specific issues many of which have a direct impact on patient safety and the built environment.
- You will be expected to be able to be work on a range of Painting and Decorating components in the Trust’s building portfolio, repairs and installation on a wide range of structural elements and equipment including internal walls, floors, ceilings, windows and doors, external areas and roofs.
- You will assist with providing a comprehensive building service to all wards, back of house departments and corporate services working in a multi-disciplined environment, ensuring compliance with national statutory standards as well as Trust safety standards and procedures.

- Experience of working in an Acute Hospital/Healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of HTM’s, Building Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Asbestos and Confined space awareness
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Painting and Decorating (or a related discipline) OR National Vocational Qualification 2 (NVQ Level 2) Painter & Decorator
- A recognised Health & Safety Awareness Training Certificate e.g. IOSH
- Recognised Apprenticeship
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence
