Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced administrator to join our Wirral Wheelchair Service. 

We are looking for a team player with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills who can deliver effective and efficient admin support along with exceptional empathetic customer care.

Experience of working in a busy office and being able to prioritise your own workload and on your own initiative is essential. You must be computer literate and be well-versed in data inputting, ideally using NHS systems. 

Main duties of the job

You will be required to undertake a wide range of admin and clerical duties to facilitate the delivery of a high-quality service, supporting our service users from an admin perspective and assisting with wheelchair product and stock management.

Working for our organisation

You will be joining a small and friendly team of wheelchair therapists, engineers and support staff that are all passionate about working in this specialist field and privileged to be able to provide adults and children with long term disability a gateway to independence and a quality of life they wouldn’t have without a wheelchair or associated equipment.

Qualifications and professional training

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3, AS or A Level, Baccalaureate or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continued professional development within last 12 months

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with the public and call handling
  • Experience of maintaining patient waiting lists
  • Experience of managing diaries for meetings etc
  • Experience of maintaining databases and information systems
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS and using NHS systems
  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
