Job overview
This is a whole time (10 PA) Specialist doctor (2021 contract) Post in Integrated Sexual Health Care. The post holder will be employed by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). The post will be based within the Knowsley sexual health service. We are seeking to recruit a substantive Specialist grade doctor (2021 contract) with specialist skills in integrated sexual health (including contraception provision & management of sexually transmitted infections).

The appointment will be fulltime (10 PA) Specialist doctor in Integrated Sexual Health, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with office accommodation provided at axess Knowsley [The Arch Huyton].
The post is within a supportive and friendly local team as part of a larger regional service, so would be adaptable to those whose may wish to travel from further afield / commute to the Merseyside area. Timetable flexibility is available and transport links are excellent.
The appointee must demonstrate significant sexual health clinical experience at a senior clinician level.
The successful candidate would be expected to provide STI and contraceptive care as part of integrated services.
Dependant on experience HIV outpatient care clinical sessions are available within axess regional hub clinics.
The post holder would also be expected to deliver one evening clinic per week. Senior doctor clinics will consist of booked appointments for referrals from other members of the clinical team, or GP’s and directly booked patient appointments.

EDUCATION & RESEARCH
Essential criteria
- Basic Medical Qualification registrable in UK
- Specialist skills relevant to sexual and reproductive health and Genitourinary Medicine
- Significant sexual health clinical experience at senior clinician level
- Ability to undertake robust audit within team structure
Desirable criteria
- Entry on the GMC Specialist register for Community Sexual & Reproductive Health or Genitourinary Medicine or equivalent via: ➢ CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) ➢ CESR or ➢ European Community rights ➢ Other approved method of entry
- Letter of competence in IUC or equivalent* - *Expectation to obtain this qualification with in 6 months of starting post
- Letter of competence in sub-dermal implants or equivalent* - *Expectation to obtain this qualification with in 6 months of starting post
- Ultrasound Special Skills Qualification • Gynaecological scanning • Soft Tissue (deep Implant)
- Application/acknowledgement of evidence based practice
- Diploma in GU Medicine
- Research/publications in sexually transmitted infections, Contraceptive/Reproductive Health and other aspects of Sexual Health
- Appropriate Higher degree (eg MSc, MD / PhD)
- Teaching qualification appropriate to sexual health e.g. Faculty Registered Trainer, STIF trainer or meets eligibility criteria
- Clinical experience in other aspects of sexual health i.e. vulval disease, psychosexual counselling, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Essential criteria
- Management of Sexually transmitted infections at independant senior clincian level
- Contraception, Sexual and Reproductive Health provision at independant senior clincain level
- Understanding importance of clinician in management
- DFSRH post graduate diploma
Desirable criteria
- Clinical experience in other aspects of sexual health i.e. vulval disease, psychosexual counselling, etc.
- Awareness of core values of NHS in its modern structure
