Job overview
The Catering department at Liverpool University Hospitals is an exciting place to work.
We feed all of the patients, but also have modern retail units. We try to bring the high street into the hospital by offering modern concepts to staff and visitors.
All the outlets are very busy and we want you to encourage sales. These posts are very rewarding jobs.
We are looking for staff who are self motivated and can work in a team or on their own unsupervised. We require staff who are flexible and open to to change. The position is based in a busy hospital so you may be moved as the needs of the service requires. You may also be required to work Bank holidays including Christmas Day. You may also be required to work on other sites.
Main duties of the job
The Retail Shop is based in the main entrance of Liverpool womens Hospital.
The position involves serving customers, cleaning, customer care, cash handling, stocking shelves and stock rotation.
You may be required to work in the catering outlets

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Although the jobs are primarily based in the unit advertised, you may be required to work anywhere within the catering department, depending on the needs of the service. This could include the Royal and Broadgreen sites. This could also include working in the patient's kitchen.
IT skills are required for all positions as the Trust does mandatory training and yearly appraisals online.

Experience

- Previous catering experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous industrial catering experience
- Previous use of cleaning machinery, dishwashing or panwashing machinery
Skills/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Knowledge of Health and Safety
- Understanding of the importance of good food hygiene
Desirable criteria
- Barista training
- Knowledge of cash till systems
