Job overview

The post holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the healthcare environments across Southport and Ormskirk sites meet the highest standards of hygiene and infection prevention. The postholder will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of cleaning training programmes for both the clinical and non- clinical teams and undertaking both technical and efficacy audits as outlined in the National Standards of Cleanliness.

To act as a subject matter expert in cleanliness and environmental hygiene, supporting both clinical and non-clinical teams to embed best practice. The role involves conducting training programmes, audits, monitoring and providing feedback to improve service delivery. The trainer will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives ensuring that cleanliness standards are consistently achieved and maintained.

This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire staff. The trainer will collaborate with infection prevention control team, facilities management and senior leadership to drive a culture of safety, accountability.

In addition, this post will require cross- service coverage across the wider Soft FM service portfolio where required, ensuring flexibility and integration across facilities functions such as catering, portering and linen services.

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.

Specialist Regional Services

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Qualifications

  • Degree / NVQ 3 / 4 in cleaning, facilities or equivalent
