The following Catering Assistant vacancies have become available at Liverpool University Hospital. Although the jobs are primarily based in the unit advertised, you may be required to work anywhere within the catering department depending on the needs of the service. This could include the Royal site & Broadgreen. 

IT skills are required for all positions as the Trust does mandatory training and yearly appraisals online.

We are looking for staff who are self motivated and can work in a team or on their own unsupervised. We require staff who are flexible and open to change to join our catering team. These positions will be based in a busy hospital, you may be moved as the needs of the service requires, also you may be required to work Bank holidays including Christmas Day.

 

Main duties of the job

Longmoor  house

Longmoor House (formerly called Stoddart House) is a self contained unit with 69 patients and the operating system we will be using to feed them will be cook/freeze. On each floor there is a regeneration kitchen and a dining room. Patients may be fed from the dining room or to their rooms

The catering service will include:-

Serving 5 beverages and snacks per day, washing the crockery from each meal service and beverage run.

Collecting, washing and refreshing water jugs twice a day, taking meal orders from patients twice a day.

Regenerating the cook/freeze meals, preparing snacks, salad & sandwiches, serving the meals.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Involved in the preparation and service of meals to patients, Staff & Visitors.
Required to undertake a wide range of cleaning and monitoring duties associated with maintaining food hygiene within the main kitchens, ward kitchens, dining room and coffee shops.
Ensuring that at all time a high quality service provision is offered, maintaining
trust values.

All training, and appraisals are done electronically so basic IT skill are essential

Experience

  • Previous catering experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous Industrial Catering experience
  • Previous use of cleaning machinery, Dishwashing or pan washing machinery
