Job overview

The successful candidate would join the Middle Grade rota covering both Obstetrics and Emergency Gynaecology full shift rota.

The successful candidate would participate in outpatient clinics for both Gynaecology and Ante-Natal care along with assisting Consultant colleagues in theatre.

there will also be opportunity to participate in governance and MDT meetings as well as teaching and reflection sessions.

Main duties of the job

The job would involve participation in a full shift on-call rota covering both Obstetrics and Emergency Gynaecology.

the role would offer regular theatre sessions, gynaecology outpatient and ante-natal outpatient sessions.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Full GMC Registration with licence to practice
Desirable criteria
  • MRCOG Part 1 & B and Part 2 written

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Adequate experience as second on call in approved Obstetrics and Gynaecology posts
  • Minimum 4 years or equivalent postgraduate training, two of which must be in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Clinical Ability

Essential criteria
  • Proven ability in managing high risk pregnancies, fetal assessment and prenatal diagnosis
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team

Applicants are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.   The successful candidate will join the existing Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Princess of Wales Hospital or Prince Charles Hospital.

The post will join a team responsible for the provision of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to Cwm Taf University Health Board.   We have one post at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend and one post at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.  The post may also be required to undertake sessions across other sites within the Health Board.

The post will be required to share with colleagues the responsibility of providing  Obstetric and Gynaecology inpatient and outpatient care to the local population and in doing so foster excellent working relationships within and outside the Department.

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology team are extremely supportive and have a successful track record of facilitating doctors progress to CESR.  The successful candidate would also be working alongside a supportive team of admin staff, nurses. midwives and trainee doctors.
