Job overview

The successful candidate will be expected provide a general Dermatology service
including routine and urgent clinics. There are opportunities to undertake
specialist interest clinics to compliment existing specialisms. 

Main duties of the job

The remit of the postholder will be to work within the multi–disciplinary team providing care for Dermatology patients, both within the hospital and the community this includes the care of outpatients, in- patients and day case treatment patients.

 

The post will be based at Harrogate District Hospital.  The Job Plan will be finalised on application, this will be flexible to suit the needs of the candidate.  In essence this will involve delivery of 7 clinics per week and 2 educational half days.  However timetables will be adjusted to meet departmental requirements.

     Applicants must hold  MBChB or equivalent medical qualification, have experience in        Dermatology and be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment

As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients.   Integral to these responsibilities is the following: - 

   The provision of a first class clinical service

   Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty

   Undertaking all work in accordance with Trust procedures and operating policies

   Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans

   Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Care Group or the Trust

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • Holds full GMC Medical registration
  • Clinical Governance and audit experience
Desirable criteria
  • MRCP or equivalent (candidates with MRCGP will be considered)
  • Training and experience in Derm (Postgrad diploma or equivalent)
