Consultant in Palliative Medicine - 9 month Fixed Term - up to 10 PA's
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full or part time Locum Consultant in Palliative Medicine for 9 months. This is a 10 PA job plan with some degree of flexibility around working pattern and part time applicants will be considered. This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established integrated multi-professional team providing specialist palliative care across hospital and community settings. There is the potential for substantive consultant openings over the coming years.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, and close working team to provide specialist palliative and end of life care to patients across the Harrogate and Rural District. The successful post-holder will work predominantly in the community with some hospital work to promote integrated working. Cross cover arrangements are in place with consultant colleagues at Saint Michael's Hospice to cover planned leave. This is generally telephone advice to experienced specialty doctors.

The successful candidate is expected to:
- To be jointly responsible, with the current Palliative Medicine consultants, for the provision of a Consultant delivered service, including prospective cover
- To provide Specialist Consultant level palliative care to patients at the end of life
- To work collaboratively with other members of the Specialist Palliative Care Team to uphold high standards of care across the hospital and community settings
- Actively participate in weekly MDT meetings

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC with licence to practice
- Inclusion on Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
- MRCP, MRCGP or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 4 years (WTE) post graduate experience in palliative medicine, some of which being in an acute hospital setting
- Experience of multidisciplinary working

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
