Corby Community Hospital is one of five Community Hospitals within Northamptonshire who all work closely to share best practice and develop services for our local population.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working in an integrated multi professional inpatient team and provide support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  To provide support to both the nursing, domestic and clerical staff  to help in the smooth and efficient running of the unit. To ensure that the ward is clean, safe and welcoming to all patients, staff and visitors by assisting with housekeeping duties associated with the unit. This also includes carrying out audits within the ward as appropriate.

Reporting to the Senior Nurse on shift or the Ward Sister and ultimately to the Ward Matron for the ward enabling them to deliver services effectively and efficiently to patients and service users.

Examples of specific jobs that the post holder will undertake include completing patient menus and serving food for patients, liaising between the ward staff and hotel services, cleaning of equipment and patient areas, assisting patients with packing belonging on discharge, reporting faulty equipment, completing audits and ordering laundry supplies, and maintaining tidy stores areas.
