This role has been developed to recruit a band 5 Cardiac Physiologist, we will consider newly qualified PTP/Apprentice applicants that have completed the formal training but would like to develop their skills further within the invasive Cardiology, or someone who is in their final year of study but who is independent in performing all non-invasive diagnostics tests, this includes Holter and Loop analysis, Exercise Tolerance Testing and Physiologist led Tilt table testing. You must have a chosen specialty of Cath lab and working towards accreditation.
Main duties of the job
The main duties include:
Analysis of holter and loop recorders
Lead low risk exercise tolerance tests
Lead physician led TILTS
Perform ambulatory monitoring and ECG's when required
learn/become proficient in all areas of PCI
Working for our organisation
Cardiac Investigations is host to 10 Echo Physiologists, 11 Interventional Cardiac Physiologists, 2 Specialist Cardiac Nurses, 4 Cardiographers, 2 Apprentices and 1 STP student, as well as a fully established admin team. We also have 14 proactive Cardiologists
We have all the facilities of a tertiary-equivalent Centre, including a modern digital echo lab performing the full range of complex scans, satellite echo clinics.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be expected to:
Analyse tapes and reveals independendently at a high level,
Train juniors in rhythm recognition
Run low risk Exercise tests with a student or ECG technician
Run Physician led TILT tests and be the second Physiologist in Physiologist led TILTS
Help in the ECG department when cover is required
Opportunities to learn CRM with a view to follow the departmental training program.

Qualifications/Knowledge/experience
Essential criteria
- Educated to PTP/Apprentice level or equivalent or working towards formal qualification
- Good knowledge of non-invasive investigations
- Excellent rhythm recognition
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Cardiac Investigations
- Able to perform diagnostic angiograms
