Job overview
You will be part of a team that provides meals to our patients. The post holder will be expected to carry out duties that involve the lifting, pulling and pushing of heavy trolleys, cleaning duties, and dealing with waste.
Main duties of the job
Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust is looking to recruit enthusiastic person to join our catering team. The successful applicant would work 37.5 hours week between the hours of 0700 - 19:30.
You will be part of a team that provides meals to our patients. The post holder will be expected to carry out duties that involve the lifting, pulling and pushing of heavy trolleys, cleaning duties, and dealing with waste. The ability to communicate effectively is essential and applicants will need basic Level 1 in English literacy and numeracy skills or equivalent.
The role involves constant interaction with all other users of the hospital and requires the post holder to be aware of the need to be caring, courteous, respectful, confidential, and customer focused in the delivery of their duties.
Previous experience of working in catering role is desirable.
Days of work for this post will be:-
Three week shift pattern that will include working 2 out of every 3 weekends

- Educated to basic level in English Literacy and Numeracy
- Educated to level 2 in Food Safety or equivalent

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
