Main duties of the job

Facilities Services is part of the ROE agreement, you will work for the NHS but be managed by Aramark, within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, across Nottinghamshire.

We are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant who will provide Laundry Services across the Highbury  Hospital site .The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a high-quality service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The hours will be 20 hours per week 5 out of 7,  working in the laundry on Highbury Hospital site. The ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team, maintaining a high standard of work will be essential. Experience in using Calender machines, industrial washing machines/dryers, data loggers, steam press, and heat sealer/label machines. using a sewing machine an advantage

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Essential criteria
  • An understanding of cleanliness and good hygiene practices
  • Worked within a laundry environment

  • Recognised, support services qualification
  • Experience in sewing
