Job overview

Little Millers Day Nursery, situated onsite at King's Mill Hospital, is dedicated to providing exceptional care and early childhood education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our nursery operates Monday to Friday, 7.30a.m-5.30p.m offering a nurturing environment where children can thrive and grow. We are committed to fostering each child's development journey, enabling them to reach their full potential.

We are seeking a NVQ Level 2 Qualified Nursery Assistant to join our passionate team. The successful candidate the ability to work effectively as part of a team along with good verbal and written communication skills. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.

You will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities that support the individual learning journey of each child, while maintaining a safe and stimulating environment. We are looking for someone who is able to work flexibly during the nursery opening hours.

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within a childcare setting

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • A commitment to undergo ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Basic Food Hygiene to be gained within 6 months
  • Paediatric First Aid to be gained within 6 months

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Working towards NVQ2 in Childcare & Education, or an equivalent qualification or minimum experience (see experience)
Desirable criteria
  • A willingness to gain NVQ 3 in Childcare & Education

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Practice Guidance and the Statutory Framework
  • Safe Guarding Children policy and procedure
  • Basic Keyboard skills
