As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:

Lead specialist nursing care for patients with dermatological conditions, ensuring expert clinical management and continuity of care.

Provide holistic support to patients and their carers, offering clear information, guidance, and reassurance throughout their treatment journey.

Champion patient-focused care by creating an environment that nurtures both patient wellbeing and the professional growth of nursing staff.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and evaluate care pathways, protocols, and policies that reflect best practice.

Drive innovation by supporting new initiatives and procedures within dermatology nursing, helping shape the future of specialist care.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to combine clinical expertise with leadership, education, and service development—ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care.
This role will be considered as a Band 6 development post for the right applicant.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- 1st level Registered Nurse
- First level degree, or equivalent knowledge, in related subject
- Significant relevant post registration experience in specialist area
- Evidence of teaching experience, either formally or in informal settings
- Evidence of recent continuous personal and professional development
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Masters Level learning or willing to work towards relevant Masters level studies
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC Level One Registered Nurse
- BSc in Nursing
- ENB 998 or equivalent teaching course.
- Evidence of post-basic specialist education.
- Educated to Masters level (or working towards) or equivalent demonstrable experience and learning within a specialist area
Experience
Essential criteria
- Understanding and knowledge of specialist area
- Significant experience in acute care
- Knowledge and understanding of primary care referral processes
- Knowledge and understanding of specialist diagnostic and clinical pathways
- Evidence of MDT working
Desirable criteria
- Experience of audit and research
- Evidence of sound organisation, leadership and management
