Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate nurse to join the Women’s Services team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust as a Gynaecology Cancer Nurse Specialist. In this rewarding role, you will provide expert, patient-centred care and support to individuals diagnosed with gynaecological cancer, guiding them and their families throughout their treatment journey.
Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will manage a specialist caseload, coordinate individual care pathways, and deliver holistic assessments that address the physical, emotional and psychosocial needs of patients. You will act as a trusted advocate and key worker, offering specialist advice, education and reassurance to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
The role also offers the opportunity to lead nurse-led clinics, contribute to service development, participate in audit and research activities, and support the education of staff and students across the Trust.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated nurse to further develop their specialist knowledge, influence high-quality cancer care, and make a meaningful difference to the experience and outcomes of patients living with gynaecological cancer.

Working for our organisation
We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
