South Central Fleet Services Ltd, are looking for Fleet Parts Person to join our team at our workshop facility in Aylesbury to maintain and manage our stock room and associated digital records on behalf of South Central Ambulance Service

This is an exciting time to join our team and to be an integral part of ensuring ambulances are available to support patients. The workshop is open 7 days a week with shifts covering the working hours on a rotation basis.  However, the parts supervisor role is expected to work Monday to Friday full time 37.5 hours with standard office hours. 

Our Fleet Parts Person performs a vital and challenging role to support the ambulance service. This involves ordering all vehicle stock parts for specialist vehicles and equipment while always ensuring maximum levels of vehicle availability. Liaise with external suppliers and customers to ensure that stock availability to meet our high demands. 

The role offers a unique opportunity to order and manage parts to maintain a diverse range of vehicles and ancillary equipment for example tail-lifts, stretchers, air lines and advanced electronic components.

Main duties of the job

To administer and manage the stock ordering for ambulances and other vehicles, as specified by SCFS Ltd to the standards required by SCFS. This includes all administrative tasks associated with a high demand service department.

Liaise with suppliers on stock ordering, returns, queries and price difference. Ensure the continuous stock records are accurate and reflective of the stock holding.

Conduct regular stock analysis on high moving parts investigating avenues for cost saving and improvements to processes and procedures.

Embrace the digitalization of the workshop environment and support in the rollout of digital job cards, parts barcodes, and records.

Conduct regular stock counts and suggest process improvement methodology to management to ensure minimal stock differences.

To maintain the records relating to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

To have due regard to the health and safety of yourself and others, reporting any hazards or accidents immediately. 

To be aware of and follow security procedures.

To attend training courses relating to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.

To fully participate in all income generation and cost savings, work relevant to the Fleet maintenance operation.

South Central Fleet Services Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary company of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust responsible for the delivery and maintenance of vehicles to the trust.

Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (based on full time hours) plus bank holidays.
