Job overview

Maintenance Craftsperson Fire:

Work within the Estates Operational Team to provide a safe, appropriate and cost-effective environment for effective healthcare delivery.

Assist in delivering PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and a reactive maintenance service – including ‘out-of-hours service’ to the Trust in accordance with the Service Level Agreement such that the Trusts engineering/building systems and equipment is maintained proactively or returned to safe and effective operation as soon as possible after a failure.

To carry out repairs and remedial works on various aspects of the Trusts Estates in accordance with statutory regulations and best practice.To participate in the on-call rota.

Main duties of the job

Fire Specific:

  1. Maintenance of Fire System.
  1. Carry out testing to Fire Systems to ensure compliance.
  1. Identify faults based on experience and knowledge and identify remedial actions.
  1. Work closely with Estates Management to manage the Fire System effectively and safely in accordance with HTM.
  1. In conjunction with Estates Management to assist in maintaining the Fire Damper Systems, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Doors and Emergency Lighting Systems.
  1. Carry out maintenance checks and tests as required.
  1. Be able to plan and follow schedules for testing, whilst working with the assistance of Multi-Skilled Technicians with the Estates Operational Team.
