Job overview
Maintenance Craftsperson Fire:
Work within the Estates Operational Team to provide a safe, appropriate and cost-effective environment for effective healthcare delivery.
Assist in delivering PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and a reactive maintenance service – including ‘out-of-hours service’ to the Trust in accordance with the Service Level Agreement such that the Trusts engineering/building systems and equipment is maintained proactively or returned to safe and effective operation as soon as possible after a failure.
To carry out repairs and remedial works on various aspects of the Trusts Estates in accordance with statutory regulations and best practice.To participate in the on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
Fire Specific:
- Maintenance of Fire System.
- Carry out testing to Fire Systems to ensure compliance.
- Identify faults based on experience and knowledge and identify remedial actions.
- Work closely with Estates Management to manage the Fire System effectively and safely in accordance with HTM.
- In conjunction with Estates Management to assist in maintaining the Fire Damper Systems, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Doors and Emergency Lighting Systems.
- Carry out maintenance checks and tests as required.
- Be able to plan and follow schedules for testing, whilst working with the assistance of Multi-Skilled Technicians with the Estates Operational Team.
