While working within the Haematology Unit, you will be fully supported by close Consultant supervision, in line with the updated 2021 Haematology training curriculum. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop broad, hands‑on experience across the specialty.
You will have the chance to rotate through a variety of key areas, including:
- Inpatient Ward: Managing and reviewing patients with a wide spectrum of haematological conditions.
- Day Unit: Supporting patients receiving treatments such as chemotherapy and infusions.
- Hospital Liaison: Providing timely advice to other teams across the Trust, helping ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Laboratory Work: Gaining valuable experience reviewing blood films and bone marrow slides alongside laboratory colleagues.
- Outpatient Clinics: Participating in the assessment and ongoing care of patients in consultant‑led clinics.
You will also have the opportunity to develop specialist procedural skills, including:
- Bone marrow biopsy
- Lumbar puncture
This is a varied and rewarding role where you can enhance your clinical knowledge, build specialist skills, and work as part of a friendly, experienced and supportive team.
